The monastic life began on March 4, 2004, when the parish priest of the church, priest Gheorghe Matveevici, with the name of Pantelimon, was ordained a monk by Archimandrite Petru Musteata, the Priest of the Monastery “St. Parascheva”, the current Bishop of Ungheni and Nisporeni. Church “St. Great Martyr Gheorghe” currently a monastery, was founded on April 16, 2000 on the Feast of the Lord’s Entry into Jerusalem, the building of the former kindergarten that was handed over to the church.
