Duration: 5 days / 4 nights

Day 1: August 26th

  • Arrival in Ungheni City and accommodation at a hotel in the downtown
  • Dinner at one of the city’s restaurants, where you can enjoy the best dishes.

Day 2: August 27th (Independence Day of the Republic of Moldova)

  • Meeting and Laying flowers dedicated to Independence Day at Trinity of Martyrs of the Romanian Nation of Ungheni City;
  • Exhibition Folk craftsmen from Ungheni City and District;
  • Concert dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Moldova presented by the Collectives of the Palace of Culture from Ungheni and other guests of honor.
  • Holiday Dance.

Day 3: August 28th (Day of Ungheni City and Diaspora Day)

  • Visit to the Episcopal Cathedral “St. Alexandru Nevski ” of Ungheni City, designed by the famous architect Alexandru Bernardazzi;
  • Visit to the Church “St. Nicolae” from Danuteni sector. It is the oldest church in Ungheni City. The church was erected at the end of the 19th century on the estate of the village Danuteni, today a sector of Ungheni City. Its main founder is Prince Constantin Moruzi, descendant of an influential Phanariot dynasty.
  • Visit to the Monastery „St. Gheorghe’’ of Ungheni City. This monastery is one of the youngest in Moldova. Until recently, it was the territory of a kindergarten, then in 2000 the church of St. Great Martyr Gheorghe was founded. In 2003, the monastery was founded on the basis of this church. It has two churches: in summer St. Great Martyr Gheorghe and in winter St. Panteleimon.
  • Photo exhibition and exhibition of Folk craftsmen from Ungheni City ahd District;
  • Concert dedicated to Ungheni City Days presented by the Collectives of the Palace of Culture from Ungheni and other guests of honor.
  • Fireworks;
  • Holiday Dance.

Day 4: August 29th

  • Visit to the Ceramic Factory Ungheni, one of the largest ceramic enterprises in the Republic of Moldova, which is focused on the development of articles, decorative souvenirs and technical products made of ceramics.
  • Visit to the Carpet Factory Ungheni, the largest producer of carpets in Western Europe. The institution has a museum of particularly original samples produced throughout its existence, which arouses the visitor’s interest.
  • Walking in the Park Micul Cluj

Day 5: August 30th

  • Visit to the Museum of History and Ethnography, where you will be able to admire the museum’s collections that count over 10,000 very old pieces and of indisputable value.
  • Visit to the old building of the Railway Station, which is the oldest urban edifice in Ungheni, being built by the Russians in 1847-1875;
  • Visit to the Railway Bridge „Eiffel” over the river Prut, being nicknamed the “lying Eiffel Tower”.
